How to Import and Export Reviews

If you’re migrating to Sendlane Reviews from another reviews provider, you can bring your hard earned reviews with you! Importing existing reviews is as easy as formatting a .CSV file and uploading them to your Sendlane account.

🚦 Before Getting Started

  1. Have access to Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets, or another spreadsheet software
  2. Make sure that all products represented in your reviews import are in your eCommerce store

 Export Reviews From Previous Provider

Check out the guides linked below for export instructions on common reviews platforms! If your platform isn’t listed here, please reach out to your former reviews provider for assistance.

 Format Reviews File

If you are uploading an export from Loox, BigCommerce, Yotpo, Okendo, Shopify Reviews, or Stamped.io, you do not need to format the file you exported from one of these providers. When you get to the Import Reviews screen, you'll select your previous reviews provider and our system will format your file for you!

If you are not uploading an export from a supported provider, files must meet the following criteria for successful processing:

  • Your file size must be no larger than 500 KB
  • Column headers exactly match the table below.
  • Your file must include all of the required column headers.

Use the Sendlane Reviews import template to avoid import hiccups! Download the template file then open it with

  1. Save the template to your desktop
  2. Use your preferred spreadsheet editor (Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers) to open the template
  3. Paste your reviews into the template, making sure to adjust column order and header text to match the table below
  4. Save your file as .CSV
  5. Follow the instructions below to upload your reviews!

🚨 Column headers in your .CSV must exactly match the headers below

If the column headers in your import file do not exactly match the column headers listed below, your import will fail

 Upload File to Sendlane

To import your review file:
  1. Click the Reviews icon
  2. Click Content 
  3. Click Import & Export
  4. Click Import Reviews
  5. Select a Product Review Source
    1. If you are uploading an export from a supported reviews platform select your previous platform, otherwise select Other from the Product Review Source dropdown
  6. Drag and drop your .CSV file or click to browse for your file
  7. Check the checkbox confirming that your reviews are genuine
  8. Click Import

If some reviews were not imported due to an error, the Results column will show how many reviews were not imported. Click the download icon in the Actions column to download a file of reviews that were not imported.

If your import was not successful, review your .CSV file for any known issues and try importing again.

Download an Import Error File

To download a imported file containing errors, click the download icon in the Actions column. The .CSV file will display all applicable errors for a row in the first column.

Export Reviews

To export all of your Sendlane Reviews:

  1. Click the Reviews icon
  2. Click Content
  3. Click Import & Export
  4. Click Export Reviews
  5. Check your email for a link to download your export

Troubleshooting

How can I fix a The product doesn't exist in our database error?

Ensure that:

  1. Your eCommerce store's integration is synced, and
  2. The product ID in the row returning this error exists in your eCommerce store.
