Understanding the Reviews Dashboard
Overview
The Reviews dashboard is full of valuable insights about the product Reviews you've collected; including your store's overall average star rating, the number of reviews you've collected and where they were collected, the number of reviews in each star rating "bucket," top products by star rating, and top products by the number of reviews. About the Reviews Dashboard
- The reviews dashboard defaults to showing the last month of data. Use the dropdown field in the top right to change your dashboard’s reporting period to one of the standard options or a custom date range.
- Reviews data refreshes daily at midnight EST and there is currently no way to force a refresh
- Rejected reviews are removed from all metric calculations
Average Star Rating
Average star rating calculates your store’s average product rating for each day in the reporting period. Hover over any day to see the average star rating and total number of reviews for that day.
Use this data to identify trends in your store’s average star rating!
On days with exceptionally high or low numbers of reviews or ratings, was your store experiencing unusual press coverage or social media chatter? If so, how can you encourage the positive coverage and address the negative coverage?
To dive even deeper, head to the Moderation page and filter by the same reporting period as the dashboard’s. Look at review activity during that time to see if you can spot any trends.
Reviews Collected
The reviews collected chart shows how effective each method of review collection was. Hover over any section of any bar to see where Reviews originated.
Use this data to identify which review request method works best!
Star Breakdown
The star breakdown chart shows the number of reviews in each star rating “bucket.”
Use this data to identify trends in positive and negative reviews!
Change the reporting period dropdown to see how the total number of positive or negative reviews grows or shrinks over time.
Head to the Moderation page to check out review activity and find out what customers are experiencing with your products that causes the number of positive or negative reviews to grow or shrink.
Top Products By Rating
Top products by rating provides a list of all products with each product’s average star rating. The default sort is highest to lowest average rating; click the [whatever] to sort by lowest to highest rating.
Use this data to identify what’s working in positively reviewed products and what’s not working in negatively reviewed products.
Top Products By Review
Top products by review provides a list of all products with the total number of reviews each product has received. The default sort is highest to lowest number of reviews; click the header to sort by lowest to highest number of reviews.
Use this data to identify which products inspire many customers to write reviews and which products could use a little help getting reviewed in the form of a review request or other promotions.
