What Is a Whitelist?

The Whitelist in reference to online terminology is a generic name for a bunch of e-mail addresses or Internet Protocol(IP) addresses that happen to be deemed SPAM free.

Whitelists run typically with e-mail applications to let users bring together a database of senders they intend to acquire e-mail information from. This catalog overrides any blacklists or spam filter and also lets these emails be delivered to the user’s inbox instead of being filtered out as SPAM.
