How do I move subscribers to a new list?

In this tutorial you will learn:

  • Movings subscribers after a set time period.
  • Movings subscribers based on their actions.
  • Using Workflows to move existing subscribers.
  • Hyperlinking text in an email.

 

 

There are four ways to move your subscribers.

  • Manually adding each subscriber to the new list.
  • Export the subscribers then import them to the new list.
  • Rename the list.
  • Create a Workflow to move the subscribers.

Since the Workflows needs a trigger of a subscriber being added to a new list or a form submit for it to work, you will need to follow these steps to get your subscribers that existed before you created the automation. (Since they are already on your list they won’t trigger the new automation sequence.)

First you will need to create a new List. Click on “Lists” in your left hand navigation then click on the green “+ Create list” button in the upper right hand corner.

Next click on “Landing Pages“. From here you will want to reassign your opt in pages to the new List. To do that click on the down arrow next to the “Edit” button of the landing pages associated with the old List. Within the drop down menu click “Settings

This will forward you the Landing Page Settings screen. From here click on “Opt-in Form Integration“. Next select the new list from the drop down menu. Then click the green “OK” button to save.

Once you have assigned all your Landing Pages to the new list next you will have to do the same with your Autoresponders.

To do that click on “Autoresponders” in the left hand navigation menu. Then click the blue “Edit” button next to the autoresponder you need to change.

The next screen click on the new list for the Autoresponder to send to. Be sure the list is highlight in blue before moving on. Once the correct List is selected click on the “Confirm” button at the bottom of the screen.

From the confirmation page you will want to scroll to the bottom and click on the green “Start Autoresponder” and then a pop up will appear to confirm you want to start the autoresponder. Click the green “Start Autoresponder” to make sure it will send to opt ins.

Do this for all the autoresponders you have assigned to the old list.

Lastly you will want to create an automation to move new subscribers to the old list. To do this first click on “Automated Series” in your left hand navigation. Then click on the green “+ Create New Series” button in the upper left hand corner.

Next click on the “+” to add your first action. From the pop up click on the “Wait” module. Set the wait action to wait for one more day than you have your autoresponder series set. So for example if you have 20 days of autoresponders set then make the wake the action “Wait” for 21 days.

Next click on the”+” button under your “Wait” module and select the “Subscribe” action. Select the old list for them to be added to after they have completed your autoresponder series. Then finally the “+” under the Subscribe action you just created. Then click on the “Unsubscribe” action and select the new list you created earlier.

Now you are all set. All new subscribers will be added to your original list after they have completed your Workflow.
